Tip 1: Always do your backups onto a hard drive that is formatted as FAT32. This is because some recovery softwares cannot mount NTFS drives to read the backed up files.

Tip 2: Always split your backup files to 650mb or 700mb per file. This way, all backup files can be safely stored on FAT32-formatted hard drives and facilitates easy recovery in future. It also facilitates easy backups to CDs or DVDs for future recovery or restoration.
